T1 Energy has signed a strategic offtake agreement with independent power producer Clearway Energy Group to supply 641 megawatts (MW) of solar modules manufactured using domestically produced solar cells from T1’s upcoming G2_Austin solar cell facility. The agreement strengthens T1’s position as a growing U.S. solar manufacturer while helping Clearway secure a reliable supply of American-made solar equipment for its expanding renewable energy portfolio. The deal also reinforces both companies’ commitment to strengthening domestic clean energy manufacturing and reducing reliance on imported components.
Supporting a Domestic Solar Supply Chain
The agreement aligns with T1 Energy’s long-term strategy of building a fully integrated U.S. solar supply chain. The company plans to combine production from its existing 5GW G1_Dallas solar module manufacturing facility with domestic solar cells produced at the G2_Austin factory. This integrated approach is designed to provide customers with greater supply chain transparency, predictable deliveries, and higher domestic content while supporting project financing and construction schedules.
Clearway Expands Access to American-Made Components
For Clearway Energy Group, the agreement secures access to traceable, high-performance solar modules manufactured with American-made cells. The company said partnerships with established manufacturers such as T1 help ensure dependable equipment supply for its growing renewable energy development pipeline. The collaboration also supports Clearway’s broader objective of increasing investment in U.S. manufacturing while maintaining high standards for quality, traceability, and domestic sourcing across future projects.
Manufacturing Expansion Remains on Track
T1 began construction of its G2_Austin solar cell manufacturing facility in December 2025 and expects the first 2.1GW production phase to begin manufacturing solar cells in the first quarter of 2027. Once operational, the facility will enable the company to produce modules containing more than 60% domestic content, a capability that has become increasingly valuable as trade policies and tariff uncertainties continue to reshape the global solar market.

The offtake agreement represents more than a supply contract—it demonstrates growing demand for domestically manufactured solar products as developers prioritize supply chain resilience and compliance with U.S. domestic content incentives. By securing a major customer before the G2_Austin facility begins production, T1 strengthens the commercial outlook for its manufacturing expansion while reinforcing its goal of becoming a leading American solar supplier.
