Ambiq Micro, Inc. (NYSE: AMBQ) announced the appointment of Michael J. Stout as its new Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), effective July 29, 2026. The leadership change was disclosed in a Form 8-K filing and is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its finance organization as it continues to expand following its public listing.
Veteran Finance Executive Joins Leadership Team
Stout brings more than 25 years of accounting and financial leadership experience across public companies and the semiconductor industry. Before joining Ambiq, he served in senior finance and accounting roles where he oversaw financial reporting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and corporate accounting functions.
In his new role, Stout will lead Ambiq’s accounting operations, financial reporting processes, and compliance with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements. His appointment supports the company’s focus on maintaining strong financial governance as it scales its business.
Compensation and Employment Terms
Under the terms of his employment agreement, Stout will receive an annual base salary along with eligibility for an annual cash bonus under the company’s incentive compensation program. He will also receive equity awards under Ambiq’s long-term incentive plan, aligning his compensation with shareholder interests.
The agreement includes standard severance provisions and other employment terms typically provided to senior executives at publicly traded companies.
No Related-Party Transactions
Ambiq stated that there are no family relationships between Stout and any director or executive officer of the company. The company also confirmed there are no related-party transactions requiring disclosure under SEC regulations in connection with his appointment.
Strengthening Public Company Operations
The appointment comes as Ambiq continues to expand its presence in the ultra-low-power semiconductor market for edge AI applications. Following its transition to a publicly traded company, strengthening the finance and accounting leadership team remains an important step in supporting future growth, regulatory compliance, and investor transparency.
